A 19th Century Fort built to defend Jersey from the serious threat of a French Invasion. At the time of its construction the fort would have offered sparse accommodation; what once was an abandoned fortification now makes a welcome home to holidaymakers. The different areas of the fort offer a unique layout. The wood burning stove and electric heating add to the comfort. During World War II when the Germans occupied the island a search light was added. The magnificent views from the terrace across Bouley Bay to the Ecrehous reef and on clear days the coast of Normandy have to be seen to be believed. A great location for walkers, divers, fishermen and bird watchers. The terrace and the two garden areas are excellent for lazy summer evening and barbecues. A true break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
